In Search of Light

Dive into the enchanting world of „In Search of Light “, an atmospheric point-and-click adventure filled with mystery and danger, tricky riddles, and whimsical creatures. Follow a courageous moth on her quest through a spooky forest, and help save her beloved firefly from the clutches of a malevolent giant. Are you ready to search for your light?

“Your eyes shine beautifuuull...” said the moth as if hypnotized.

“That may be,” the cat replied, purring. “But you'd better be careful not to cut yourself. Because it's not just my pupils that are sharp.”

On her adventure, the moth meets many characters who try to keep the darkness at bay with their light sources. But not all of them are friendly to the moth, and she soon has to learn that some lights are better not to fly towards. The story may seem sweet and innocent at first glance, but its shadows conceal some dark themes and a good dose of black humor.

“I‘m lost. I‘m weak. How might I save my Glowbum?” asked the moth in despair.

“Hm, I guess you're right,” replied the moon in his slow, deep voice. “At the end of the day, you're just a little moth. What good can you do?”

The moth may be weak, but she is far from helpless. She is usually underestimated by the forest dwellers, which she can use to her advantage. And so she fibs and tricks, snatches and deceives, doing whatever it takes to reach her goal. But the path there is not always easy, as it is dark and strewn with stones. With your help alone, the moth can overcome all the obstacles and continue her journey until reaching the illuminating end.

The moth flew up and down restlessly. 

“You're fishing?” she called out in surprise. “How dull!”

“Not a bit,” replied the frog calmly. “Remember one thing, little moth: patience is a virtue. Everything comes to those who can wait long enough.”

This game is a student project at Bauhaus University Weimar and is being created as part of the Digital Dreams course under the direction of Gianluca Pandolfo. Although it is still under development, most of it is already playable. So far there is only a German version, an English version is still being planned. And as usual with point-and-click, all you need to play is a mouse.
